Work-in-Process Transfers - Inventory Control

Automates Inter-Plant Transfers of WIP

Tracks WIP Inventory Transfers via Serial Number

Automates WIP Transfers

The SPEDE Inter-plant Transfer module automates the process of tracking Work-in-Process inventory shipped between your facilities for additional processing.

It standardizes the process of tracking Inter-Plant Transfers by enabling all your facilities to use the same serialized inventory labels and SPEDE software to record and track outsourced WIP inventory.

Inter-plant transfers are recorded automatically by scanning the serial numbers of outgoing WIP units. This simple step eliminates paperwork and data entry, and creates a real-time record of all outbound WIP inventory. You will have real-time visibility of all WIP units, and know exactly what was shipped, when and where it went.

At the Shipping Facility -

  1. The serialized outbound containers are scanned or RFID-read as they are loaded into the trailer.
  2. SPEDE creates an electronic manifest of the trailer's contents, or a "virtual ASN" but without using EDI.
  3. Your Shipping Facility's SPEDE System sends the"ASN" to the SPEDE System at the Destination facility, notifying them of the shipment en route.

At the Destination Facility -

  1. Arriving material is scanned or RFID read, and automatically verified against the "ASN".
  2. It is received into the Desitination Facility's WIP inventory system.

Lot/ Serial Traceability continues at the Destination Facility’s site, via using SPEDE to scan inventory transactions..

"As we're loading on this end, we're automatically sending an ASN to our own DC.

And they will do a scanned validation on Receiving. "
